VIII (KB) AREA OF QUADRILATERALS

viii (kb)AREA OF QUADRILATERALS
1.     Draw a Parallelogram of sides 5 cm, 6 cm and area 25 cm2.
2.     Draw a Parallelogram of area 25 cm2 and perimeter 24 cm.
3.     Compute the area of the parallelogram below:one diagonal 18 cm and perpendicular from opposite vertex to that diagonal is 6.5 cm.

4.     Draw a square of area 4 cm2.
5.     Draw a non-square rhombus of area 9 cm2.
6.     The area of rhombus is 216 cm2 and the length of its diagonals is 24 cm. Compute the following measurements of this rhombus.
i.                    Length of the second diagonal
ii.                  Length of a side
iii.                Perimeter
iv.                Distance between sides
7.     A 68cm long rope is used to make a rhombus on the ground. The distance between a pair of opposite corners is 16m.
i.                    What is the distance between the other two corners?
ii.                  What is the area of the ground bounded by the rope?
8.     What is the area of the largest rhombus that can be drawn inside a rectangle of sides 6cm and 4cm.
9.     Draw a rectangle of sides 7cm and 4cm. Draw isosceles trapeziums of the same area with the following specifications.
i.                    Length of parallel sides 9cm and 5cm

ii.                  Length of non-parallel sides 5cm

10.     Calculate the area of the isosceles trapezium drawn below: its  parallel sides are 15 and 16 cm and distance between them is 8 cm.

11.     Draw a square of area 12 ½ square cm
12.     The parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are 8cm and 4cm long; and non-parallel side are 5cm long. What is its area?
13.     The lengths of the parallel sides of trapezium are 30cm, 10cm and the distance between them is 20cm. What is its area?
14.     Compute the area of hexagon below:

15.     This is a picture drawn in the lesson CONSTRUCTION OF

QUADILATERALS.

What is the area of the large trapezium made up of the smaller ones?
7.     Prove that for any quadrilaterals with diagonals perpendicular, the area is half the product of the diagonals.
8.     Compute the area of the quadrilateral shown below:

9.     Compute the area of the parallelogram shown below:

10. Draw two quadrilaterals, neither parallelograms nor trapeziums , of area 15cm2.
11. Draw a square of area 12 ½ square cm
12. Find area of quadrilateral whose one diagonal is 24 cm and heights from opposite vertex to that diagonal is 12cm and 10 cm.

      1.       Find area of given quadrilateral.
